A well-balanced attack led Whitefield Academy over Shelby County in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Whitefield Academy Wildcats blew the Shelby County Rockets out of the water with a 72-25 final score. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 20 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Noel Smith, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Whitefield Academy's points. Gwynnie Franz was another key player, going 9 of 20 en route to 25 points.

Whitefield Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Whitefield Academy's victory bumped their record up to 16-6. As for Shelby County, they dropped their record down to 3-18 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Whitefield Academy will square off against Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Whitefield Academy likes a good challenge. As for Shelby County, they will challenge Cornerstone Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
