Benton Central is on a four-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Delphi Community is on a five-game streak of away wins (also dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Bison will welcome the Oracles at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Benton Central barely beat Seeger the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bison put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 12-6 win on Thursday. While the Bison didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Sydney Groves made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chloe Linder, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Madison Minniear, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Benton Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Seeger only posted a batting average of .281.
Meanwhile, Delphi Community made easy work of Sheridan on Thursday and carried off a 19-9 victory. The result was nothing new for the Oracles, who have now won four games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Sami Leopard was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with four runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Ava Mills was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.
Benton Central's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Delphi Community, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Saturday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Benton Central hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .342. However, it's not like Delphi Community struggles in that department as they've averaged .426. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Benton Central was able to grind out a solid win over Delphi Community when the teams last played back in April of 2025, winning 12-8. Will the Bison repeat their success, or do the Oracles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
