Brighton has gone a perfect 9-0 against Westminster recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wolves at 6:30 p.m. Brighton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Last Tuesday, Brighton came up short against Riverdale Ridge and fell 8-4.
Brighton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jude Bachicha, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Westminster hadn't done well against Boulder recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Wolves were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over the Panthers. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wolves considering their two-run performance the matchup before.
The team relied heavily on Adrian Moreno, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tony Sisneros, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Westminster kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Boulder only managed eight hits.
Westminster has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Brighton, they dropped their record down to 8-6 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Brighton has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Westminster struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Brighton was able to grind out a solid victory over Westminster in their previous meeting on Saturday, winning 7-2. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
