Basketball Recap: Galatia Piles Up the Points Against Elverado

Galatia hadn't done well against Elverado recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Galatia Bearcats blew past the Elverado Falcons 71-38. The Bearcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Galatia to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cam Miller, who almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine boards. Miller continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Eli Hankins was another key player, going 7-for-11 on his way to 17 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists.

Galatia smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Galatia has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. As for Elverado, their loss dropped their record down to 12-14.

Galatia has already played their next contest, a 63-30 victory against Agape Christian on the 13th. As for Elverado, they will host Zeigler-Royalton at 6:00 p.m. on February 18th.
