It's about time: Faith finally caught a break after 3 consecutive losses. They took the match and then some with a 44-6 win on Friday over Newell. That result is just more of the same for Faith, who also won the last time these teams played.
Faith's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 44 points in the first half. Meanwhile, Newell couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 44-0 heading into the break. Faith were outperformed in the second half 0-6 but had enough in reserve to walk away with the win.
No one put up better numbers for Faith than junior Treyton Bushong, who brought his A game into the match. He passed for 170 yards and 4 touchdowns. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse senior Seth Drum, who racked up 11 tackles. The victory bumped Faith's record up to 1-3. Newell are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-4.
After their action against one another, the teams are leaving the conference to test themselves against outside opponents. Faith will be staying on the road next week, facing off against Edgemont. Newell will stay at home against New Underwood at 7:00 PM.
