The Morrill Lions scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They breezed by Sioux County at home to the tune of 74-32. Morrill has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 22 points or more this season.
Wyler Fisher continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with nine rebounds and six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Pittman Ashwin, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Sioux County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shane Gluth, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of William Skavdahl, who scored five points along with 13 rebounds.
Morrill is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Sioux County, they dropped their record down to 3-13 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Morrill will play host again and welcome Hemingford, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hemingford has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Sioux County, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Arthur County at 3:30 p.m. Arthur County is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
