The Grafton Spoilers can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent game on Monday. They blew past Thief River Falls, posting a 88-34 victory at home. That 54 points margin sets a new team best for Grafton this season.
When it comes to explaining why Thief River Falls lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lucas Rantanen. Despite the final result, he scored ten points. Rantanen continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Rosendahl, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Thief River Falls struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Grafton's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.5 points per game. As for Thief River Falls, they have fallen quite a ways from their 26-3 record last season and are now at 2-7.
Grafton will head out on the road to challenge Carrington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Carrington will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Dakota Rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while Grafton is ranked fifth). Thief River Falls won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Ada-Borup at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Ada-Borup has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 781 points over their last 11 matchups.
