Ridgeview is 0-7 against Tri-Valley since April of 2017 but things could change on Wednesday. The Mustangs are taking a road trip to face off against the Vikings at 4:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
On Tuesday, Ridgeview got the win against Gardner-South Wilmington by a conclusive 10-2. Considering the Mustangs have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Max Mason and Cole Kennedy made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Mason struck out nine batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Meanwhile, Kennedy tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). At bat, Mason scored a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while Kennedy scored a run while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, Ridgeview let Landon Ludwig and Ben Crowley run wild. Ludwig scored two runs while going 1-for-3, while Crowley went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Those two runs gave Ludwig a new career-high. Kane Aupperle also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tri-Valley). They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over LeRoy on Monday. The Vikings not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 22, 2024.
The team relied heavily on Ethan Moore, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Cade Danko was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
Tri-Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as LeRoy only posted a batting average of .211.
Tri-Valley's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Ridgeview, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4-1 record this season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Ridgeview has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Tri-Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Ridgeview suffered a grim 18-3 defeat to Tri-Valley in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
