After two games on the road, Warde is heading back home. They will take on the Staples Wreckers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Friday, Warde strolled past the Falcons with points to spare, taking the game 51-35.
Meanwhile, Staples had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They really took it to Bridgeport Central for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-40 victory on the road. That looming 67-40 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Staples yet this season.
Staples found their leader in underclassman Sam Clachko, who scored 19 points along with five assists and three steals. Mason Tobias was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Warde's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-5. As for Staples, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
Warde couldn't quite finish off the Wreckers when the teams last played back in March of 2023 and fell 57-55. Thankfully for Warde, Chris Zajac (who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
