After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ben Holt College Prep Academy, Venture Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the River Islands Riptide 21-4. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.
Savanah Espinoza made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most triples she has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Venture Academy got a massive performance out of Amiyah Pizano, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Gracelynn Silva was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.
Venture Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .655. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in six consecutive matchups.
