East Stroudsburg North has been on the road for four straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Easton Area Rovers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. On Monday, East Stroudsburg North ended up a good deal behind Pleasant Valley and lost 79-65. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as East Stroudsburg North came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 164th, while Pleasant Valley is ranked 382nd).
Defeat or not, East Stroudsburg North got some senior leadership from Nate Wilder and Bryceson Dobie. Wilder scored 22 points, while Dobie. scored 20 points. Wilder hasn't dropped below 15points for nine straight games. Ozias Washington was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Easton Area posted their biggest win yet this season on Monday. They claimed a resounding 61-27 victory over Louis E. Dieruff at home. The win was just what Easton Area needed coming off of a 71-38 defeat in their prior contest.
Easton Area had a senior duo take command as Jeremy Henry scored 19 points and Ryan Cornish scored 13 points. That's the first time this season that Henry scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyshaun Dunlap, who scored six points.
East Stroudsburg North's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 9-6. As for Easton Area, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.
Keep an eye on the arc in Wednesday's match: East Stroudsburg North have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 5.7 threes per game. However, it's not like Easton Area struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.1 threes per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
East Stroudsburg North was dealt a bruising 85-38 defeat at the hands of Easton Area when the teams last played back in January of 2020.
