The Roanoke Valley Christian EAGLES entered their tilt with the Grace Christian Warriors with 13 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 14. Roanoke Valley Christian took down Grace Christian 56-42 on Tuesday. For Roanoke Valley Christian, this counts as revenge for the 62-52 loss Grace Christian walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Roanoke Valley Christian was led to victory by Logan Gutierrez and Alex Nelson. Gutierrez scored 12 points along with five assists and five rebounds, while Nelson scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Nelson scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremy Chou, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Justin Hain and Davis Reid certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Hain scored 24 points along with five rebounds, while Reid scored 14 points along with five assists and two blocks. Reid is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last five games he's played.
Roanoke Valley Christian pushed their record up to 14-2 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Grace Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roanoke Valley Christian will take on Faith Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Faith Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday. As for Grace Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Blue Ridge Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
