East Sequoia recap Nov. 7, 2012
Lindsay extended the longest winning streak in East Sequoia this week by beating Strathmore, 26-23. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Lindsay and the Spartans played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Lindsay eventually emerging with a 26-23 victory. Jacob Hernandez ran for 243 yards and caught one passes for 17 yards in the win.
Jesse Lira's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Alex Jara threw for 107 and one touchdown and Gaven Mann had 135 yards receiving.
Dillon Fugate made the biggest impact on defense this week as Corcoran bested Sierra Pacific. The 5-foot-9 sophomore pulled down two interceptions.
Granite Hills's Fernando Gonzalez and Fernando Rodriguez have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Gonzalez has thrown for 934 yards this season, while Rodriguez has 31 catches for 382 yards. Cody Styles from Strathmore leads the league in rushing with 1633 yards.
In 115 carries Hernandez has accumulated 924 yard this year.
Woodlake led East Sequoia in scoring this week after putting up 38 points on the Grizzlies. John Kulick ran for 186 yards in the win.
