The Peru Tigers will head out to challenge the Northfield Norsemen at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Peru will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Peru is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 26-3 margin over Southwood on Monday. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Kouper Burks was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Bryce Hill was incredible, going 5-for-6 with one home run, five runs, and two stolen bases. He also brought in five RBI, which is notable because Peru is 3-1 when he posts at least three RBI, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Gavin Eldridge, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one double.
Peru kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 23 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Northfield came up short against Rochester on Monday, falling 18-7.
Korbin Haupert made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Baer, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.
Peru now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Northfield, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
Everything went Peru's way against Northfield in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Peru made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
