The Tully Black Knights gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 64-29 victory over Solvay. For Tully, this counts as revenge for the 40-37 loss Solvay walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Solvay lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Neonna Turk, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Turk scored a full 55.2% of Solvay's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaye?anna Turk, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and seven steals.
Tully's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Solvay, they bumped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Tully won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Weedsport at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th. As for Solvay, they will be playing at home against Skaneateles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
