The Calvert Senecas will be playing at home against the Woodmore Wildcats at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
Even though Calvert has not done well against the Raiders recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Calvert strolled past the Raiders with points to spare, taking the game 47-31. The victory was all the more spectacular given Calvert's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 465th, while the Raiders are ranked 199th).
Alyssa Rishty was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Calvert's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Coleman, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Woodmore beat the Eagles 34-29 on Tuesday.
Calvert is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for Woodmore, they pushed their record up to 11-6 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
