North Allegheny (Wexford, Pa.) snapped
Gateway (Monroeville, Pa.)'s 5-game winning streak, with a 14-3 victory on Saturday.
The Tigers were up 7-3 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Mack Leftwich in the second quarter.
Leftwich played well for North Allegheny in the victory. The senior quarterback ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.
Christopher Conti played well for the Gators. The sophomore kicked one field goal.
NA had given up an average of 5.4 points prior to the contest. Gateway's three points were well below its season average of 40.8 per game.
A 21-17 North Allegheny victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The loss comes after Gateway defeated Hempfield Area 41-13 last week.
Gateway (5-1) goes up against Norwin in a WPIAL AAAA Foothills game matchup next week, while North Allegheny (6-0) locks horns with Central Catholic in a WPIAL AAAA Northern Eight game.
