The Larue County Hawks pushed their score all the way to 71 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Bullitt East by a score of 73-71.
Jagger Mardis and Daniel Allen certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Mardis scored 26 points along with 6 rebounds, while Allen scored 21 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Blakey, who scored 8 points along with 8 rebounds.
Larue County's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Bullitt East, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Larue County will take on North Hardin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bullitt East, they will be playing at home against Fern Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
