Big North - Liberty recap Oct. 9, 2012
Isaac Williams of Passaic County Tech ran for the longest rushing play in Big North - Liberty this season against Eastside last week. Williams scampered for 73 yards on the play and finished with 171 on the day as his team defeated the Ghosts.
Eastside made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,816 from 7,209. The advance stemmed from a 16-13 victory over Jermain Johnson's team last week.
Passaic County Tech's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jared Quintero threw for 53 and one touchdown and Zaire Weaver had 24 yards receiving. Mike Rodriguez helped Passaic County Tech's passing attack out by catching two balls for 10 yards.
Passaic County Tech's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bulldogs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Quintero has thrown for 458 yards and six touchdowns this season, while Kori Haggie has nine catches for 142 yards. Williams leads the league in rushing with 750 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Passaic County Tech takes on second place Fair Lawn. Last week, Matthew Demarest's team defeated the Ghosts, while Fair Lawn lost to Don Bosco Prep.
