The River Valley Blackhawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 65-22 defeat at the hands of Mauston. While losing is never fun, River Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 404th, while Mauston is ranked 201st).
River Valley used a three-pronged attack on offense:
Lydia Willoughby,
Alexis Deviney, and
Karina Osborn posted four points each.
River Valley has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 12 of their last 14 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season. As for Mauston, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.
River Valley and Platteville will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Platteville is coming into the match with three straight victories at home, meaning River Valley will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
