The Webster County Trojans will head out on the road to square off against the Hopkins County Central Storm at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
After soaring to 62 points the game before, Webster County were a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 55-19 loss at the hands of Henderson County. While losing is never fun, Webster County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while Henderson County is ranked 28th).
Meanwhile, Hopkins County Central unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 54-40 bruising from Madisonville-North Hopkins.
Webster County's loss dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Hopkins County Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-10.
Things could have been worse for Webster County, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 64-50 loss to Hopkins County Central in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Webster County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
