After a string of five wins, the Jersey Village Falcons's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 52-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cy-Fair. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Jersey Village came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 299th, while Cy-Fair is ranked 760th).
Cy-Fair had a senior duo take command as Gresa Arapi scored 16 points and Macy Eaken scored eight points along with six steals. The matchup was Arapi's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kalis Allen, who scored five points along with eight rebounds.
Jersey Village's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Cy-Fair, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-12.
Jersey Village will be home for the holidays to greet Cypress Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cy-Fair, they will head out on the road to face off against Cypress Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Cypress Creek will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
