The Pomona Red Devils are taking a road trip to take on the Edgewood Lions at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Pomona's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past La Puente 31-0. Winning may never get old, but the Red Devils sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Noah Zayas made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Zayas was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season.

In other pitching news, Vince Huguez tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Emmanuel Campos was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Brandon Cruz also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Pomona was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as La Puente only posted a batting average of .053.
Meanwhile, Edgewood won against Bassett on Tuesday with 17 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Lions didn't even let the Olympians on the board, marking the Lions' second-straight 17-0 shutout. The win was nothing new for the Lions as they're now sitting on five straight.
Evan Davis was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Davis was also solid in the batter's box, earning one RBI and two runs. Edgewood is undefeated when Davis posts two or more runs, but 6-8 otherwise.
In other batting news, Aaron Magdaleno was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Raymond Tafolla, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Edgewood pushed their record up to 13-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Pomona, their record now sits at 10-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Pomona has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Edgewood struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Pomona couldn't quite finish off Edgewood in their previous meeting back in March and fell 5-3. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
