Basketball Recap: Summit Shasta Gets the Win

Summit Shasta won the last time they faced Balboa and things went their way on Saturday too. The Black Bears secured a 50-46 W over the Buccaneers.

Several Buccaneers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alan Ly, who almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine boards. Ly's afternoon made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Keone Tran was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Summit Shasta is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.6 points over those games. As for Balboa, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Coming up, Summit Shasta will be taking part in a tournament against Mills at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Balboa, they will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Mission at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
