Jefferson's loss came despite strong showings from Demi Pane and Grace Strong. Pane scored eight points, while Strong scored eight points along with six assists and three steals.
Bishop Heelan Catholic's victory was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.6 points per game. As for Jefferson, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Heelan Catholic won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Lynx at 12:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Lincoln will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Iowa Rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Crusaders are ranked fifth). As for Jefferson, they and the Bulldogs will face off at 5:30 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
