The Sanford-Fritch Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Dimmitt Bobcats at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Sanford-Fritch is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Dimmitt in Texas (Sanford-Fritch is ranked 391st, while Dimmitt is ranked 965th).
On Tuesday, Sanford-Fritch was beaten by Texline 104-47. Sanford-Fritch was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-31.
Meanwhile, Dimmitt had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Olton by a score of 52-44 on Tuesday. The victory was just what Dimmitt needed coming off of a 72-51 loss in their prior game.
Dimmitt's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Frankie Cortez, who scored 10 points along with 7 assists and 6 steals. Cortez is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was GaQuorie Chatham, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds.
Their wins bumped Sanford-Fritch to 2-2 and Texline to 4-1.
Sanford-Fritch strolled past Dimmitt in their previous meeting back in December of 2017 by a score of 78-64. Will Sanford-Fritch repeat their success, or does Dimmitt have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
