After a string of five wins, the Larkin Royals's good fortune finally ran out  on Wednesday. They fell just short of Streamwood by a score of  57-55. Larkin was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Streamwood apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in December of 2023.
 Streamwood's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Jamia Gatlin led the charge by  almost  dropping  a double-double on 16 points and nine  rebounds.  Brianna Coffey was another key contributor,  scoring 12 points along with eight  rebounds and four  steals.
 Larkin's loss  ended a six-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 17-13. As for Streamwood, their victory bumped their record up to 13-14.
 Larkin will be staying on the road  on Monday to face off against Rolling Meadows at 7:30  p.m.  on February 12th. Rolling Meadows presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Larkin in Illinois (Rolling Meadows is ranked 96th, while Larkin is ranked 286th). As for Streamwood, they will square off against Schaumburg at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. Hopefully Streamwood focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up 12 on Wednesday.
