While Ponce De Leon's win against Malone wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Ponce De Leon skirted past Malone 10-9. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Braiden Yates made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Yates was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Yates is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mark Flynn, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Hunter Weimorts was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Ponce De Leon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Malone only posted a batting average of .241.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Bethlehem took on Gadsden County on Friday. Everything went Bethlehem's way against Gadsden County as Bethlehem made off with a 24-3 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Wildcats' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Ponce De Leon's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.1 runs over those games. As for Bethlehem, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
