The Manchester Valley Mavericks came tearing into Wednesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Francis Scott Key by a score of 47-39. The score was all tied up 16-16 at the break, but Manchester Valley was the better team in the second half.
Manchester Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Braylen Williams out in front who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that Williams grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendan Luddy, who scored 17 points along with two steals.
Manchester Valley pushed their record up to 11-7 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Francis Scott Key, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.
Manchester Valley has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Harford Tech at 6:30 p.m. on February 9th. Manchester Valley is facing Harford Tech at the right time seeing as Harford Tech is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Francis Scott Key, they will head out on the road to face off against South Carroll at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
