Basketball Recap: Andre Jones' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Northeast over High School of the Future

Northeast was the 59-38 winner over High School of the Future when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Northeast Vikings came up short against High School of the Future on Saturday, falling 73-53. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Northeast's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andre Jones, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 17 points. The dominant performance also gave Jones a new career-high in assists (three). Another player making a difference was Sharif Wallace, who posted 11 points along with eight boards and three steals.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead High School of the Future to victory, but perhaps none more so than Malik Jones, who scored 27 points. Kasheef Williams was another key player, putting up 21 points.

Northeast now has a losing record at 8-9. As for High School of the Future, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3.

Northeast wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 67-58 loss against Abraham Lincoln on the 20th. As for High School of the Future, they will venture away from home to challenge Roxborough at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. High School of the Future is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.3 points per game this season.
