Pender is 0-4 against Southwest Onslow since October of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Patriots will venture away from home to face off against the Stallions at 7:00 p.m. Pender knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Southwest Onslow likes a good challenge.
On Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Pender beat Clinton 50-45. The win almost wasn't to be: the Patriots were down 38-24 in the second quarter.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Jaheim Lambe and ZyQuan Murphy. Lambe rushed for 164 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries while Murphy rushed for 146 yards and four TDs. With that strong performance, Lambe is now averaging an impressive 102.7 rushing yards per game. Zeke Williams helped out on the ground, rushing for 121 yards.
Pender was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 465 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 317 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Southwest Onslow was beaten by East Duplin 53-12 on Friday. The Stallions haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Pender will have to keep a close watch on Trenstin 'Ton' Bolden and Jabri Williams, a pair of players who had a big impact on Southwest Onslow's prior game. 'Ton' Bolden rushed for 105 yards on only nine carries, while Williams rushed for 27 yards and one score.
Pender's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.4 points over those games. As for Southwest Onslow, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Pender has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 494.5 total yards per game. It's a different story for Southwest Onslow, though, as they've been averaging only 183.8 total yards. Will Pender be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will the Stallions flip the script?
Pender was taken down by Southwest Onslow 42-6 in their previous matchup back in March of 2021. Thankfully for the Patriots, Isaac Moore (who rushed for 135 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
