The Crest Chargers waltzed into their match on Wednesday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They blew past Ashbrook 77-52. The score was close at the half, but Crest pulled away in the second half with 46 points.
Crest got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was King Rhodes out in front who scored 25 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rhodes has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aj Adams, who scored 17 points along with seven assists.
Several Greenwave players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kenneth Greene Jr, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Greene Jr pulled down eight or more rebounds. Issac Byers Jr was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Crest's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.4 points per game. As for Ashbrook, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-2.
