Turner hasn't had much luck against Lone Star recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Lions will welcome the Rangers at 6:45 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Turner came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 10-3 to Creekview.

Grecia De La Garza put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and seven unearned) runs off 11 hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
De La Garza wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hailey Serrano, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
Meanwhile, Lone Star has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.83 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They came up short against Reedy, falling 12-3. That makes it the first time this season the Rangers have let down their home crowd.
Makala Wallace made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Brooke Wooten was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and one stolen base.
Lone Star's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8-1. As for Turner, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.
Lone Star's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Turner has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Lone Star, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.9 strikeouts. Will Turner keep running through batters, or will the Rangers buck the trend?
Turner might still be hurting after the 7-0 defeat they got from Lone Star when the teams last played back in March. Will the Lions have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
