While losing is never fun, Calvary Day School can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while the are ranked 29th).
When it comes to explaining why Calvary Day School lost, one person who can't be blamed is Owen Calvert. Despite the final result, he scored 36 points along with five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Calvert has scored all season. Dane Cassada was another key contributor, scoring 21 points.
Calvary Day School has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-15 record this season. As for Caldwell Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season.
Calvary Day School will be playing in front of their home fans against the Celtics at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Roanoke Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Thursday. As for Caldwell Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
