The Durango Trailblazers were the 43-38 winner over the Basic Wolves when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. Durango fell to Basic 48-44. Durango has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Trailblazers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Amia McKinney, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizebeth Mahavong, who scored 14 points.
Basic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Natasha Harrison led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Harrison hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Kamilyah Williams, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Durango has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. As for Basic, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Durango will take on Mojave at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Mojave has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15. As for Basic, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Sunrise Mountain at 6:30 p.m. Sunrise Mountain has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
