Audriana Anglada was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Anglada was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Annie Jimenez was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Josie Barden, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Horizon Honors always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Desert Christian only posted an OBP of .300.
Horizon Honors pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Arizona Lutheran Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Arizona Lutheran Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .419. However, it's not like Horizon Honors struggles in that department as they've averaged .463. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
