The Gunnison Cowboys took down the Salida Spartans 43-27 on Friday thanks in part to Buckhanan, who rushed for 152 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 63 yards and a touchdown. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 152 rushing yards.
Buckhanan was just one part of a punishing run game: Gunnison was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 236 rushing yards. That's a new trend for Gunnison: they were averaging 84.2 rushing yards per game earlier this season, but in their last four contests they've averaged 272.

Gunnison's record now sits at 3-6. As for Salida, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
