Even though the Brooks County Trojans scored an imposing 61 points on Friday, the Pelham Hornets still came out on top. Pelham walked away with a 72-61 victory over Brooks County. This was payback for Pelham, who suffered a 48-42 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Several Trojans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Anton Graham, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Camauri Brinson, who scored ten points along with seven assists and six steals.
Pelham's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Brooks County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.
Pelham won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Mitchell County at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th. Mitchell County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Pelham in Georgia (Mitchell County is ranked 60th, while Pelham is ranked 325th). As for Brooks County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Thomasville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
