Softball Recap: Fort Bend Elkins Wins Going Away Against Fort Bend Austin

Fort Bend Elkins hadn't done well against Fort Bend Austin recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Knights were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over the Bulldogs. This was a revenge game for the Knights: when they faced off against the Bulldogs back in February, they had to take a 16-13 loss.

Adrian Thummel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on five hits.

At the plate, Fort Bend Elkins got a massive performance out of Madison Clay, who went 2-for-5 with six RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those six RBI gave Clay a new career-high. Jaila Davis was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-5.

Fort Bend Elkins' win bumped their record up to 3-11. As for Fort Bend Austin, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.
