Center Grove extended the longest winning streak in Metropolitan this week by beating Lawrence Central, 42-10. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Trojans.
Ben Davis and Pike played the most contested game in the league this week, with Ben Davis eventually emerging with a 49-48 victory.
North Central's dynamic duo of Michael Loggan and Jared Clark proved tough for Warren Central to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Loggan threw for 229 yards and 4 touchdowns and Clark had 115 yards receiving. Carlton Chaney helped North Central's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 46 yards.
The Panthers' dynamic duo of Loggan and Clark proved to be unstoppable against the Warriors, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Clark was the best receiver in the league this week as North Central lost to Warren Central.
TIRONE YOUNG was the best running back in Metropolitan this week. He ran for 66 yards on 11 carries as Jayson West's team fell to Jayson West's team. Teammate CLIFF THOMAS added to the ground attack by rushing for 56 yards.
Loggan put up the best numbers through the air as the Panthers fell to the Warriors.
Luke Calvert was a passing and rushing force as Center Grove defeated the Bears. He completed 12 passes for 276 yards and 3 touchdowns and also ran for 5 yards. Calvert's favorite target this week was Devon Hensley, who caught 3 passes for 93 yards.
6-foot-5 quarterback Loggan of North Central is the league leader in passing yards this season with 898. He has also thrown 10 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is DARIUS LEE. The Warren Central star has 12 catches for 345 yards.
The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between the Giants and Lawrence Central. Ben Davis enters the game ranked fourth in the state, while Jed Richman's team ranks sixth.
