The John Jay Patriots will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Arlington Admirals at 5:00 p.m. on November 3rd. John Jay will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Arlington is ranked 20th).
Last Friday, John Jay sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 17-14 win over Scarsdale.
Meanwhile, Arlington put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 52-14 win over Ossining at home. Fans of Arlington have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Michael Rescigno had a dynamite game for Arlington, rushing for 198 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, while also throwing for 203 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. Rescigno really tore up the turf during one magnificent 77-yard run. Chance Moultrie made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
John Jay is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for Arlington, their victory was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0.
John Jay came up short against Arlington in their previous meeting back in September of 2019, falling 24-16. Can John Jay avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
