Valley Oak League recap October 8, 2013
Kimball's Gaige Allen rumbled for the longest rushing play in Valley Oak League this season in his game against East Union last week. Allen ran for 76 yards on the play and finished with 146 on the day as his team defeated the Lancers.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Sierra beat Sonora 45-26. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Timberwolves.
Jake Pruitt threw for 496 yards and 5 touchdowns. He went 27-41 with 1 interception.
Lucas Widmer had an awesome week catching the football as Sierra defeated the Wildcats. He caught 6 passes for 219 yards.
Pruitt put up the best numbers in passing as Jeff Harbison's team bested Sonora. Pruitt's favorite target this week was Widmer, who caught 6 passes for 219 yards.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Chris Cannaday. The Weston Ranch star has 41 catches for 643 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Manteca takes on Oakdale. At the moment, the Buffaloes are in second, while the Mustangs are in third.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Manteca takes on Oakdale. Eric Reis' team has allowed 83 points this season, while Trent Merzon's team has given up 73. The Buffaloes allowed 7 points last week as they defeated Lathrop.
Kimball moved up to 599 from 658 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Valley Oak League. Charles Spikes' team climbed the ranks as a result of topping East Union 42-21.
