Nebraska Christian is 1-7 against Heartland since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Nebraska Christian Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Heartland Huskies at 7:45 p.m. Nebraska Christian has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 9.
Last Wednesday, Nebraska Christian came up short against Central Valley and fell 55-48.
Despite the defeat, Nebraska Christian had strong showings from Micah Perdew, who scored 31 points along with nine rebounds, and Oliver Herman, who scored 15 points along with six assists and five rebounds. That was a full 64.6% of Nebraska Christian's points, marking the ninth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Even though they lost, Nebraska Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central Valley only pulled down three offensive rebounds.
Heartland suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Monday. They were beaten by Fillmore Central 69-26. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Heartland has scored all season.
Nebraska Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Heartland, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
Nebraska Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Heartland when the teams last played back in January of 2023, sneaking past 51-49. Will Nebraska Christian repeat their success, or does Heartland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
