The Wesleyan Christian Academy Trojans will face off against the North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Having struggled with five losses in a row dating back to last season, Wesleyan Christian Academy turned things around against Concord Academy last Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 7-1 margin over the Eagles. The Trojans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Alexis Emery spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up 16 Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 6.4 strikeouts per game.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Allison Cheek, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ragan Godfrey, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Cheek wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Wesleyan Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
North Raleigh Christian Academy not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 30, 2024. They put the hurt on Cary Academy with a sharp 26-10 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.
Bella Gibb was incredible, getting on base in all seven of her plate appearances with six runs, seven RBI, and two stolen bases. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Mercer Gill was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
North Raleigh Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Wesleyan Christian Academy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
North Raleigh Christian Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Wesleyan Christian Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for North Raleigh Christian Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 3.3 strikeouts. Will Wesleyan Christian Academy keep running through batters, or will North Raleigh Christian Academy buck the trend?
Wesleyan Christian Academy couldn't quite get it done against North Raleigh Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 5-1. Can Wesleyan Christian Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
