Chief Sealth hasn't had much luck against Garfield recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Seahawks will square off against the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. Chief Sealth is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
Chief Sealth proved they can win big on Friday (they won by ten) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Nathan Hale 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Seahawks have posted since April 19, 2024.

Seth Clark made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off ten hits. Clark was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. He has become a key player for Chief Sealth: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-4 otherwise.
Clark wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Peter Sketchly, who went 2-for-3 with one double.
Meanwhile, Garfield can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against Roosevelt by a score of 4-0. The contest marked the Bulldogs' most dominant victory of the season so far.
Not much got past Spencer Merwin, who gave up just three hits to keep Roosevelt off the board. Merwin has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Taylor Woods was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Lockie McIver also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Chief Sealth has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Garfield, their record is now 4-6.
Garfield's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Chief Sealth has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .452. It's a different story for Garfield, though, as they've only averaged .333. Will they be able to contain Chief Sealth's hitters?
Chief Sealth skirted past Garfield 2-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Seahawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
