Lumberton will challenge Resurrection Catholic on the road at 7:00 PM on Saturday. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown.
After a disappointing nine points in their last matchup, Lumberton made sure to put some points up on the board against Sacred Heart last Friday. Everything came up roses for Lumberton against Sacred Heart as the team secured a 51-7 win. Lumberton's success was spearheaded by the efforts of senior Davion Edwards, who rushed for 142 yards and 1 touchdown, and sophomore Robert Henry, who rushed for 102 yards and 1 touchdown. That makes it eight straight good games in a row from Henry.
Meanwhile, Resurrection Catholic put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. They took the contest and then some with a 44-6 victory over Mount Olive. The rankings were on Resurrection Catholic's side, but they didn't forecast quite such a lopsided result.
Their wins bumped Lumberton to 7-1 and Resurrection Catholic to 6-2. After the lofty point totals in their previous games, we'll see if they're able to heat things up even more while facing each other.
