The Carson Colts will venture away from home to take on the El Segundo Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.2 runs per game this season.
Carson was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Gardena on Monday. The Colts never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 24-0 win. The Colts might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by seven runs or more this season.
Alaina Moran looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Carson let Ruby Grajeda and Jessica Markel run wild. Grajeda got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and three doubles, while Markel went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those three doubles gave Grajeda a new career-high. Aleighna Matos was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and four RBI.
Carson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .824. They are a perfect 12-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, El Segundo came up short against North on Friday and fell 6-2. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
El Segundo saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Cswaykus, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Carson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.6 runs over those games. As for El Segundo, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.
El Segundo's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Carson has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.9 hits per game. It's a different story for El Segundo, though, as they've been averaging 8.7 hits. Given Carson's sizable advantage in that area, the Eagles will need to find a way to close that gap.
