After two games on the road, Rancocas Valley is heading back home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Middle Township Panthers on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Rancocas Valley scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Gloucester Catholic 74-35 on the road. That looming 74-35 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Rancocas Valley yet this season.
Middle Township has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 20 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Hammonton on Thursday as Middle Township made off with a 74-54 victory. Given Middle Township's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th, while Hammonton is ranked 163rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Anthony Trombetta and Jamir McNeil were among the main playmakers for Middle Township as the former scored 16 points and the latter scored 18 points along with five assists and five steals. The matchup was McNeil's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Re'Ale Basquine, who scored 11 points.
Rancocas Valley now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Middle Township, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
