The North Broward Prep Eagles will challenge the Palmer Trinity Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. North Broward Prep will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
North Broward Prep had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Ransom Everglades on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitcher stepped up to hand the Raiders a 12-0 shutout. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by nine runs or more this season.
Jack Rostock tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Alex Smith and Adrian Rodriguez did most of the damage at the plate: Smith scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Rodriguez scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave Rodriguez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brian Campbell Harrison, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
North Broward Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Palmer Trinity posted their closest win since February 28th on Tuesday. They skirted past Pine Crest 4-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Falcons, who have now won five matches in a row.
Michael Miraglia made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Palmer Trinity got a great performance from Pedro Castillo as he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Tommy Barcinas Jr., who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Matthew Echevarria was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
North Broward Prep pushed their record up to 16-5 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Palmer Trinity, their record is now 14-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. North Broward Prep has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Palmer Trinity struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went North Broward Prep's way against Palmer Trinity in their previous matchup back in March of 2022, as North Broward Prep made off with a 10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
