The Lampeter-Strasburg Pioneers will head out on the road to challenge the Exeter Township Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Lampeter-Strasburg's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Lebanon with a sharp 20-0 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Pioneers considering their one-run performance the match before.
Mackenzie Mack was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Alaina Brenneman, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Lampeter-Strasburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lebanon only posted an OBP of .294.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Exeter Township made sure to put some runs up on the board against Governor Mifflin on Wednesday. The Eagles blew past the Mustangs 11-1. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Mackenzie O'Brien was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Jadee Ruiz-Ravelo was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Lampeter-Strasburg is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Exeter Township, their record now sits at 6-10.
Lampeter-Strasburg came out on top in a nail-biter against Exeter Township in their previous meeting back in May of 2019, sneaking past 5-4. Do the Pioneers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
